Saltwater Trout Fishing Charters in Tampa Florida

Speckled trout have been Floridas most popular gamefish for many years. They are great to eat, agressive feeders, and very abundant. We catch them yearround but target them more directly during the cooler months when they are most active and again in the spring when the bigger specimens gather in thier massive spawning aggregations.

When the spotted sea trout are spawning, which takes place from late March thru May, it is not uncommon for us to catch 50 or more gator trout in the 3 to 5 pound class from a single spot. In fact, some of the schools are so big that people actually get tired of catching them and ask to go try for something else. 

From November through February we either fish for the big trout in very skinny water or we drift over the deeper  grassflats while casting jigs. The latter produces fast paced action on average size fish; great for kids, or those looking to keep the rods bent.
